Monumental Moments

20130720-133055.jpgYesterday was a day of milestones on my walk.

I walked over the final mountain pass and summit on my walking route, the Crowsnest Pass. I dare say it was easy after conquering the monstrous Bonanza Pass (Paulson Summit) in BC, and then the Salmo-Creston Pass (Kootenay Summit) also in BC.

This summit was not difficult for me because the town of Sparwood BC is at an elevation of about 1100 m, while the summit is at just over 1350 m. A total gain in elevation of only about 200 m.

I walked over the (North American) Continental Divide.

I walked over the BC/Alberta border, at the Crowsnest Summit. It’s all downhill now on the final stretch of my journey – physically and mentally, as I approach Calgary.

Photo above – self explanatory (pride of accomplishment!).
